XX. PAST PERFECT TENSE ( LAST )

Usage :
- Bercerita kejadian yang sudah terjadi di masa lalu
- Bercerita 2 kejadian yang satu selesai pertama dan yang satu selesai belakangan

Example :

- We had made a cute bag
- I had taken a bath before i had breakfast
- I had had breakfast before i went to school
- I went to party after i had dinner
- I had turned off the lamp before i slept

FORMULA :
- had + V3 + before + V2
- V2 + after + had + V3

XIX. PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE

Usage :
1. Menyatakan kegiatan yang sedang terjadi di masa lalu
2. Menceritakan 2 kejadian yang satu sedang berlangsung dan yang lain menginterupsi
3. Menceritakan 2 kejadian yang sama-sama berlangsung

Example :

- We were waiting for Mr. President
- We were waving our hand when the reporter took a picture
- When police officer blew the whistle, we were standing weakly
- Michael was playing football while Bryan was watching TV
- I was reading a book while My mom was cooking

FORMULA :
- Be2 + Ving + When + V2
- Be2 + Ving + While + Be2 + Ving

TIME SIGNAL :
- When ( digunakan jika kejadian yang menginterupsi cuma sebentar )
- While ( digunakan jika kejadian yang terjadi bersamaan atau lama )

XVIII. SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Usage : Untuk bercerita kejadian yang terjadi di masa lalu dan menekankan pada waktu kejadiannya

Example :

4. He walked to me and hit me

XVII. RECOUNT TEXT

Recount is A text that tells experience in a sequences of time

Usage : To re tell someone past experiences in a dries of events in a sequences of time

Use : V2 / SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Generic Structure :
A : ORIENTATION : characters and setting
B : EVENTS : ( 1 - n ) series of events
C : RE - ORIENTATION : penutup, simpulan, perasaan penulisnya

For Events you use :

XVI. NARATIVE TEXT

The purpose : to entertain the reader about the story ( Fabel, Folklore, Legends, Fairy tale, etc )

Generic structure :
- Orientation :
tells about the setting in home and place and characters ( tokoh )
- Complication (s) :
tells about problem (s) to be solved by characters
- Resolution :
It discribes the solution to the complication (s) and gives an ending to the story
- Re-Orientation :
the conclusion , opinion of the writer
